The clip shows Smart Film used to zone an Open Plan space · switching opaque - clear at will

In short · what does smart film do in a living room?

3 functions in one system

  • (1)Privacy for facade glass and balcony doors
  • (2)Smart Partition to zone off the Open Plan between kitchen and living room
  • (3)Large Projector Screen — turning opaque into a screen with quality beyond a roll-down · all using Smart Film Indoor Series at 6,700-9,500 THB/sqm

3 Use Cases · the modern living room

01

Privacy for glass doors opening to the balcony

Indoor Series · replaces curtains

Modern homes use large glass or sliding doors opening to the balcony — open and spacious, but at night neighbours can see inside. Fit Smart Film Indoor, press the switch to turn opaque at night and clear again in the morning, replacing curtains with a sleek, luxurious look

Budget: a 4 sqm pane × 8,500 THB ≈ 34,000 THB

02

Smart Partition to zone an Open Plan

Indoor Series · kitchen/living

An Open Plan home where the kitchen flows into the living zone looks beautiful and airy, but oil dust and cooking smells drift in too. Fit a sliding glass partition + Smart Film and you can turn it opaque while cooking and clear when done, zoning the space non-permanently while the home still feels open · read the full dust guide → smart film and the dust problem

Budget: a 6 sqm partition × 8,500 THB ≈ 51,000 THB

03

Projector Screen · Home Theater

Indoor PNLC (Reverse) · clear all day · opaque for movies

When opaque, smart film becomes a high-quality projector screen that's wider than an ordinary roll-down screen, with sharp images and no crease lines. Fit PNLC on a glass wall or sliding door, press opaque only when watching movies and clear again for the view. Some homes fit a full 3-4 metre pane = a bigger screen than any cinema

Budget: an 8 sqm pane × 9,500 THB ≈ 76,000 THB · choose PNLC for Reverse Mode

Frequently asked questions · living rooms

Is smart film sharp as a projector screen?

As sharp as a premium roll-down screen · because it's a smooth surface with no crease lines · it can be larger than a typical cinema screen, spanning 3-4 metres or more · we recommend a projector of ≥ 3,000 lumens for rooms with incoming light · choose PNLC (Reverse Mode) so the glass is clear by default and turns opaque only when watching movies

What does a Smart Partition between kitchen and living room cost?

A 6 sqm partition × film 8,500 THB ≈ 51,000 THB · plus the glass/sliding door at another ~30,000-60,000 THB depending on spec · total budget lands around 80,000-110,000 THB · cheaper over the long run than heavy curtains + motorised blinds · and crucially the home still feels open and airy

PDLC or PNLC — which is better for a living room?

It depends on the use case per spot · Privacy on window panes = PDLC (opaque by default, privacy as the default) · Smart Partition zoning an Open Plan = PDLC (opaque by default, clear when you want openness) · Projector Screen = PNLC (clear all day · opaque only for movies) · you can mix several modes in one home · read more → how PDLC and PNLC differ

Can kids press the switch and play with it in the living room?

Safe · it can be switched on and off without limit (tested 100,000+ cycles without affecting the film's lifespan) · it runs on Low Voltage 48-60V through a transformer, so it's not dangerous for kids to press · and if you'd like peace of mind you can set parental control via the Smart Home app

How many spots make smart film worthwhile in an Open Plan home?

Start with the 2-3 most worthwhile spots first

(1) Glass door opening to the balcony
(2) Partition zoning off the kitchen
(3) Home Theater glass wall · total budget around 150,000-200,000 THB · then expand to other spots (bedroom · bathroom) in a later phase when you're ready
Can smart film be fitted on large glass panes (4 metres+)?

Yes · InHouse film comes in a standard 1.8 metre × 50 metre roll · panes larger than that use panel joining by InHouse's professional installers, with seams that are barely visible · real cases such as One Bangkok and the Bank of Thailand, with panes of 10+ sqm each, fitted cleanly and lasting well

Can it replace a Curtain Wall (full-building glass)?

Yes · Smart Film can be fitted on every Curtain Wall pane · but for large scale we recommend Smart Glass Laminated or IGU + Aquaris™, laminated in the glass at the factory for a cleaner look · with sound control and heat rejection up to 88% for IGU · consult an InHouse engineer for a Mega Project to design specifically for the site

Can it also reduce dust and allergies in the living room?

Yes, in the same installation · a Smart Partition that zones the kitchen off from the living room directly reduces oil dust and cooking smells · combined with replacing curtains (the biggest dust trap in the home), it clearly reduces allergies in the room · read the full dust guide → smart film and the dust and allergy problem at home
