Smart Film is cut with CNC laser cutting to a ±1mm fit, while Smart Glass is made to order as tempered laminated glass in the required shape. Do curved or custom shapes cost more than standard glass?

No. InHouse charges the same per-square-metre rate for every shape — fixed, sliding, CNC curved, semi-circle, free-form, skylight — all at 6,700-14,800 THB/sqm for Smart Film and 14,500-22,500 THB/sqm for Smart Glass. There is no separate CNC fee, design fee or template fee. Price depends on the Series you choose (Indoor / Outdoor + Aquaris™ / Performance + Lucida™); installation cost depends on site difficulty (rope access, high scaffolding), not on the glass shape. Q: Smart Film or Smart Glass — what is the difference?

Smart Film (entry/mass-market) is PDLC film retrofitted onto existing glass at 6,700-14,800 THB/sqm, installed immediately (about 1 hour per pane, single panes done in a day), removable, and it can cover only part of a pane for zone privacy — lasting 12+ years. Smart Glass (premium tier) is tempered laminated glass with an EVA interlayer and factory-embedded PDLC, in two variants — Laminated 14,500-22,500 and IGU 26,000-48,000 THB/sqm — bespoke made-to-order in 7-10 days, safety-glass grade, lasting 15+ years base with a +50% boost. Both are available across all 12 shapes.

Q: How do you hide the wiring so it is not visible?

InHouse uses a cable-management technique tailored to each glass shape — the same technique works for both Smart Film and Smart Glass. Wiring is mostly concealed in the glass frame, cornice, or drop ceiling: flat ribbon or silicone cable for doors, a slip-ring for pivot doors, a Cable Carrier for sliding doors, and a weatherproof junction box for skylights. Every joint is sealed with epoxy and heat-shrink against moisture, and the bus-bar is silver-bonded so it never rusts — the result is a finish so seamless it does not look like anything was installed.

Q: Does lifespan differ between the various glass shapes?

InHouse Smart Film lasts 12+ years across every shape. Smart Glass (premium tier) lasts 15+ years base with a +50% boost (Laminated Indoor 15+ base; Outdoor/Performance and IGU sealed units get the +50% boost). The reason is consistent: we use R&D-grade PDLC plus Aquaris™ (for wet areas and outdoors) plus an EVA interlayer (glass), with the same cable-connection standard on every shape. Smart Glass lasts longer because the PDLC is embedded inside the glass, protecting it from external scratching.

Q: After installing Smart Film or Smart Glass, do the doors still open and close normally?

Yes, on every door type — swing, sliding, folding, pivot — they open and close normally, because InHouse uses purpose-built flexible cable, slip-rings (pivot) and Cable Carriers (sliding). The same technique works for both Smart Film and Smart Glass, rated for 50,000-100,000 open/close cycles. Smart Film lasts 12+ years and Smart Glass 15+ years base with a +50% boost, and every unit passes a cycle test before handover, with no dangling cable to snag and no impact on aesthetics.

Q: What is the largest size you can make for each glass shape?

Smart Film is up to 2.5 metres wide per sheet with unlimited length (we have run seamless installs up to 12 metres), CNC-cut to a ±1mm fit on any shape. Smart Glass is up to 2.5 metres wide per pane, with height engineered to safety limits (up to about 6 metres depending on thickness). Curved, semi-circle and free-form panes are made to order. Panes larger than the maximum are joined with a barely visible structural joint, and InHouse engineers calculate size and thickness for free before production.
