Lucida™ · Pure Clarity Technology
Smart Film and Switchable Glass nearly indistinguishable from bare glass
Pure Clarity technology proprietary to InHouse · a layer added onto the PDLC/PNLC base, for both Smart Film (switchable PDLC film) and Switchable Glass (Smart Glass) · developed from OOASYS since 2017 to today · several times less haze than standard PDLC · nearly indistinguishable from bare glass · the clearest smart film on the market · Pure Clarity beyond the Indoor Series — already the market's top standard — focused on the clarity your eye actually sees, not a VLT number on paper.

The story of Lucida™ · from OOASYS to InHouse R&D
Lucida™ did not appear overnight · it is the result of nearly a decade of continuous R&D, in which InHouse inherited the technology heritage of OOASYS starting in 2017 and developed it to perfection.
Because "high VLT" doesn't mean "clear to the eye"
When R&D began in 2017, the OOASYS team found that every PDLC switchable film brand in the market competed on the VLT (Visible Light Transmission) number — whoever claimed the highest number was deemed the clearest · but in real testing inside hospital labs, they found that film claiming the market's highest VLT still carried a faint haze in the image, making the eye see less crisply, unlike ordinary glass.
What was missing was "clarity your eye actually sees", not a lab number · OOASYS began experimenting with a polymer formulation to reduce the haze in the liquid-crystal layer · it took 3–4 years of development to reach the first formula that came close to ordinary glass.
InHouse received the transfer of this technology and spent 5+ more years developing it · refined the formula · added IR/UV coating · extended it to work with both Smart Film (PDLC/PNLC) and Switchable Glass (Tempered Laminated) · until Lucida™ reached its most complete form to date.
It started with OOASYS
The company that developed the first PDLC formulation to genuinely reduce haze

The Lucida™ development timeline
Nearly 10 years of R&D that never stopped
OOASYS R&D Phase 1
Discovered the haze problem in commercial PDLC · began experimenting with the first polymer formulation
Pure Clarity Prototype
Achieved the first formula that reduced haze several times versus commercial PDLC · crystal-clear at the lab level
InHouse R&D Takeover
InHouse took the technology over from OOASYS · adapted the formula to Thailand's climate
Lucida™ for Glass
Extended the technology to work with Tempered Laminated Switchable Glass · launched the Performance Series
Why the VLT number isn't the final answer
Ordinary PDLC switchable film and Switchable Glass in the market compete on the VLT number (Visible Light Transmission · the general market claims 74–98% — manufacturer-claimed figures) · but a high VLT does not mean clear to the eye.
Many film brands with high claimed numbers (including InHouse's own Indoor Series — already the market's top standard · Clarity 98%) still carry a faint haze (clarity loss) inherent to PDLC that makes the image seen through them less crisp · Lucida™ solves this with a special polymer formulation + Neutral Base (color-neutral base — no yellow/blue tint), achieving clarity to the eye beyond the Indoor Series — already the market's top standard · the technology that makes the InHouse Performance Series the clearest smart film on the market.
Polymer Formulation
A special low-haze polymer coating formula that reduces micro-haze in the liquid-crystal layer · developed exclusively by InHouse R&D (originating with OOASYS in 2017)
Multi-layer Stack
A 5-layer stack structure: ITO → PDLC core → Lucida coating → UV barrier → protective layer · each layer calibrated for a refractive index close to glass
Visual Acuity Testing
Every batch is QC'd through a real-eye test by humans · not just a spectrophotometer · because we believe in "clarity your eye sees", not a lab number
Lucida™ works with both Smart Film and Switchable Glass
It is a layer technology added onto every kind of PDLC/PNLC base · whether retrofit switchable film or Tempered Laminated Switchable Glass · customers get the same crystal-clear clarity.
Smart Film + Lucida™
PDLC/PNLC switchable film coated with the Lucida™ Pure Clarity layer · applies onto the customer's existing glass with no replacement · ideal as the Performance Series for premium retrofit work
Switchable Glass + Lucida™
Tempered Laminated Switchable Glass with the Lucida™ Pure Clarity formulation embedded in the PDLC layer between the panes · ideal for new-build projects that need Safety Glass + crystal-clear clarity
Decision Tree: want to retrofit premium work onto existing glass → Smart Film + Lucida™ · want Safety Glass + a premium new build → Switchable Glass + Lucida™ · InHouse experts advise you free of charge
