Watch the clip · Smart Film and Smart Glass for doors
The clip shows Smart Film + Smart Glass fitted on various door types · seamless finish, wiring completely hidden from view.
In short · which doors work
Smart film works on any door with glass — whether sliding · folding · swing · bi-fold · frameless · a shower door or a custom curved pane — with just 2 exceptions: solid doors with no glass, and all-metal doors. Smart Glass, on the other hand, must be planned before you order new glass, because the PDLC is laminated into the glass at the factory · a retrofit swap is possible but requires removing the entire pane.
7 door types · how to fit + limitations
Each door type has different things to watch — pane size · swing clearance · cable-joint points · how often it opens and closes.
Sliding Door
Popular in homes · bathrooms · balconies · office partitions
Works with both film and Smart Glass. The key point is the cable-management system, because a sliding door has to travel back and forth, so we use a spring cable or a coiled cable conduit to keep the wiring from tangling or snapping — and concealed wiring is exactly where InHouse stands out.

Swing Door
Pivots on hinges · meeting-room doors · boardrooms · executive offices
The easiest to fit — the wiring drops through the top or bottom at the hinge, using a pivot cable channel to keep it tidy. For a meeting room we recommend PNLC (reverse mode) — clear by default, opaque for confidential discussions.
Recommended: Smart Film Indoor · Smart Glass Laminated (both PDLC/PNLC) · example project: Q House Avenue · Smart Glass bathroom
Frameless Door (Bottom Patch Door)
Showrooms · modern offices · sleek, upscale glass boxes
Frameless glass with a small bottom patch lock is where Smart Glass fits best, because the PDLC is laminated into the glass at the factory and the power connector hides neatly inside the patch. Smart Film also works, but the cable routing must be planned meticulously — and InHouse's cable-concealment work is a signature.

Folding Door (Bi-fold)
Homes · balconies · switching open plan ↔ closed
3-6 panels linked together that fold away to the side. It works, but the inter-panel wiring must be planned using a flexible cable joint at each hinge. We usually recommend a separate circuit per panel to avoid a broken cable when the door folds.
Recommended: Smart Film Outdoor + Aquaris™ (balcony use) · example project: KDN (Krispy Kreme) · bi-fold door
Awning · Small Casement (Awning · Casement)
Casement windows · bedrooms · bathrooms · open at an angle
Every pane works. Use a spring cable to keep the wiring flexing with the open-close motion. For a bathroom, choose the Outdoor Series + Aquaris™ (wet zone); for a bedroom, the Indoor Series is enough.
Recommended: Smart Film Indoor (bedroom) · Smart Film Outdoor (bathroom)
Glass Shower Door
Shower rooms · homes · pool villas · hotel "sexy bathrooms"
The wettest of wet zones — it requires the Outdoor Series + Aquaris™ only (standard PDLC won't survive). InHouse is the only brand in Thailand with wet-zone technology for smart film, and the 662-room Pullman Hotel Phuket uses this grade. It comes with 360° edge sealing against water/steam/alcohol cleaning.

Special Door Glass · Custom (Round · Curved · Skylight)
Curved glass · special shapes · skylights · glass houses
Smart Film fits special-shaped glass (cut to size), while Smart Glass must be produced to CAD at the factory (lead time +30-60 days). InHouse offers a custom MOQ of 3 sqm per colour, ideal for a glass house · skylight · or a consultancy project's dome room.
Recommended: Smart Film Performance + Lucida™ (roof glass · skylight) · example project: Men's clinic · freeform glass

InHouse installation standard · a finish so seamless it doesn't look like film at all
What makes 5-star hotels and Mega Projects choose InHouse is engineering-grade installation · 3 key USPs:
- •Fully concealed wiring — no cables in sight — every door type can be finished cleanly
- •A finish so seamless it doesn't look like film — film laid flat with no bubbles · clean edges with no visible adhesive layer
- •InHouse's own engineers + crews — no subcontractors · covering all of Thailand + 8 ASEAN countries
InHouse applies this same standard to large-scale work such as the Pullman Phuket · 662-room smart film Mega Project
Frequently asked questions · fitting doors
Can a sliding door take smart film? Will the wiring snap?
Yes, it works, and the wiring won't snap if done right · InHouse uses a spring cable or coiled cable conduit that extends and retracts with the slide · tested to 100,000+ cycles with no issue · the wiring is hidden in the top or bottom track of the door · invisible from outside · example project: Khun Chanidapa's project · sliding door
What kind of film does a bathroom (shower) door need?
It requires Smart Film Outdoor + Aquaris™ (or Smart Glass Laminated + Aquaris™) only · standard PDLC can't survive a wet zone (water, steam, 80%+ humidity) · InHouse is the only brand in Thailand with wet-zone technology · the 662-room Pullman Hotel Phuket uses this grade · read more → Smart Film for bathrooms · example project: Pullman Hotel · bathroom
Can a home's 4-panel bi-fold (folding) door take it?
Yes · you need a separate circuit per panel · using a flexible cable joint at each hinge · we recommend Smart Film Outdoor + Aquaris™ for a balcony door · consult an InHouse engineer before choosing a site-specific design · example project: KDN (Krispy Kreme) · bi-fold door
Can a frameless door with no frame take film?
Yes, but Smart Glass fits better · the PDLC is laminated into the glass at the factory · the power connector hides inside the bottom patch · the sleekest look · with Smart Film you must route the wiring through the patch meticulously · the InHouse team can do it, but the labour cost is higher · example project: TAIT Sathorn 12 · condo bathroom
Can a curved glass door take smart film?
Smart Film can · it can be cut and laid to a curved shape, depending on the curve angle · Smart Glass, meanwhile, is produced to CAD at the factory · lead time +30-60 days · custom MOQ 3 sqm per colour · ideal for a glass house · skylight · special dome room · example project: ADESA · curved-glass meeting room
Can a non-glass door take smart film?
No · smart film must go on clear glass (that transmits light) · a solid wood or metal door isn't a Smart Film use case · if you want to convert an existing door to glass, we recommend going straight to Smart Glass · tempered laminated safety glass · with built-in 30-35dB sound insulation.
How long does fitting smart film on a door take?
It depends on the door type · swing/hinge doors take 1-2 hours per panel · sliding doors take 2-3 hours (wiring routed through the track) · frameless takes 3-4 hours (finishing the wiring in the patch) · the InHouse team works as 3 specialised crews in parallel (electrical · cleaning · film application).
