- Clear glass has no privacy
- The clear glass meeting-room wall is see-through to the people and meeting inside, lacking privacy.
- A fully opaque pane makes the room feel heavy and cramped
- Applying frosted film across the whole pane makes the meeting room feel boxed-in, heavy, and too cramped.
- Permanent frosted film can't switch modes
- Old frosted-sticker film, once applied, stays opaque permanently and can't switch clear-to-opaque on demand.
- Wanting both privacy and daylight
- They wanted privacy in the meeting room while keeping the natural light and openness of the space.
The solution we proposed for this project
A mid-band of smart film screens the view at just the right level
Apply a mid-band of smart film at eye level to block the view from outside just right, without making the whole pane opaque.
The glass stays open, not fully opaque
Leave the top and bottom glass clear and open, so the meeting room doesn't feel boxed-in or cramped like a full-pane cover.
Really switches clear-to-opaque, not permanent frosted film
The mid-band is PDLC smart film — command it clear or opaque on demand, unlike a fixed frosted sticker.
Press clear to let natural light fully into the room
When switched clear, the mid-band lets natural light into the meeting room, keeping the space open and airy.
A minimal design; the mid-band adds depth to the glass
The clean mid-band line gives an ordinary glass wall depth and a modern look, suiting the hotel's minimal design.
Install only the eye-level band to keep the budget in check
Apply smart film only to the eye-level band instead of the whole pane — the privacy you need, budget just right.
